The GREAT PLAINS GATHERING (GPG)

Council Camporee

September 26-28th

We are excited to announce that with the movement forward of our Great Plains Gathering event, we now have a window to invite our Arrow of Light participants!!!  This great opportunity will allow these youth to experience a true Scouts, BSA event and participate in some fun activities.  While our AOL population cannot do everything that the Scouts BSA can do, events will be added to make sure they have a wonderful experience.  (Most of the activities will be the same).  The AOL population will be the 5th graders in the 2025/2026 school year.

Arrow of Light families/dens can be invited to camp with Troops under the guidelines from the Guide to Safe Scouting below. (from https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/gss/gss03/) Any Arrow of Light family/den that does not have a host Troop will be placed together in an Arrow of Light designated campsite.

Arrow of Light Scouts may participate at a Scouts BSA “camporee” (council coordinated, short-term camp, see NCAP SA-001) during the day and/or overnight in one of two ways:

With their Arrow of Light Den/Patrol. Arrow of Light Scouts can attend as an Arrow of Light den/patrol under the supervision of two deep leadership from their Arrow of Light den/patrol or pack. The Arrow of Light Scout’s parent or legal guardian(s) may attend with the Arrow of Light den/patrol and their child, either alongside the two-deep leadership or as part of it if they are registered with the pack. Or

As an Individual Scout. Arrow of Light Scouts can attend with their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) if the local council coordinates two deep leadership per NCAP Standard HS-502.
