Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is an overnight training event that introduces participants to the skills needed to plan and conducted Pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping. This training is required for any adult who oversees planning a pack campout. The pack MUST HAVE at least ONE person trained per pack to go camping.
This training is comprised of two components—an online component and a practical, hands-on component. Both components must be completed to qualify as a “TRAINED” Cub Scout outdoor leader.
The online component must be completed prior to the practical component. The online training contains introductory and basic information that will be built upon during the practical training. The online portion MUST BE completed BEFORE attending this course.
