Safety Merit Badge

A working knowledge of safety issues helps Scouts learn to evaluate risks to themselves and others. Join us at the Council office to earn the Safety Merit Badge.
Knowing about safety helps Scouts to make the right choices and to take the best actions to avoid accidents by making informed choices in their everyday activities and to respond appropriately during an emergency situation.
There will be two sessions to earn the Merit Badge, Scouts must attend both, or they will receive a partial completion.
One of the requirements is for each Scout to make a safety inspection of their home. Identify any hazards found and explain how these can be corrected. The checklist is attached, and can be completed before the first session or between the two sessions.
Scouts are encouraged to download, review, and fill out the workbook (attached) prior to the first session. The Safety Merit Nadge pamphlet is also available.
