Miakonda Day Camp is open to ALL youth going into 1st-5th grades. Looking forward to another GREAT year of Day Camp on the grounds of historic Camp Miakonda, the land of the crescent moon. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2027!

Miakonda Day Camp is a place for youth to explore the outdoors, make new friends, try exciting activities, and create lasting memories. From outdoor adventures and hands-on activities to games, crafts, and plenty of fun, each day offers new opportunities to learn, grow, and experience the adventure of camp. Whether attending for the first time or returning for another summer, campers can look forward to an unforgettable experience at Camp Miakonda!

2027 Day Camp Information

Who: All youth going into the 1st - 5th grades in the fall. All rising 1st graders will need an adult partner with them each day of camp.

2027 Day Camp Sessions

Drop Off Time: 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM

Pick Up Time: 4:15 PM (Weeks 1, 2, 4, & 5)

*Campers are released with a guardian signature after the closing flag ceremony

Week 1: June 14 - 18, 2027

Week 2: June 21 - 25, 2027

Week 3 (Twilight Week): June 28 - July 1, 2027 (Drop Off Time: 4:30 - 5:00 PM; Pick Up Time: 9:15 PM)

Week 4: July 5 - 9, 2027

Week 5: July 12 - 16, 2027

Pricing & Registration

Day Camp Weeks 1, 2, 4, and/or 5

$255 per youth - Early Bird Registration Fee by May 1, 2027
$275 per youth - Regular Registration Fee after May 1, 2027

Twilight Camp Week 3

$105 per youth - Early Bird Registration Fee by May 1, 2027
$115 oer youth - Regular Registration Fee After May 1, 2027

Registration costs includes: a unique Day Camp T-Shirt, camp patch, lunch, and an experience your Camper will never forget!

Camperships

Financial assistance is available for all Erie Shores Council Scouts who are unable to afford summer camp programs, such as Miakonda Day Camp. If you have such a Scout in your Pack, please complete the online Campership application by April 10, 2027. Click HERE for additional information and the application.

This program may cover up to 50% of the Scout’s camp fee. The Campership Application will open March 1, 2027.

Discounts

Pack Attendance

A Pack discount of $10 per Scout for Packs signing up 8 or more Scouts for Day Camp.

To Qualify:

1. **Registrations must be paid on or before May 1.**
2. Find at least 8 Cub Scouts to attend camp (they do not all have to be attending the same week).
3. Work with your Pack Camping Coordinator to find out which Scouts will be attending Day Camp and collect the payments from the families. $245 per Scout.
4. Fill out the registration for each Camper under the Packs account on Scoutingevent.com/460-MiakondaDayCamp.
5. The discount will automatically be applied. If the discount does not automatically apply, call 419-843-0107 for assistance.
6.  Complete the registration process by either making the payment online or at the Iott Scout Shop.

Popcorn Certificates

You must present your certificates to the Iott Scout Shop before registering to receive the awarded amount.

Annual Health & Medical Records

Everyone, both youth and adult, who attends or participates in Miakonda Day Camp must have the REQUIRED Scouting America Annual Health and Medical Form Parts A and B. Copies of the form may be obtained by visiting the Iott Scout Shop or online HERE. Forms can be submitted before camp in person at the Iott Scout Shop or at the Pre-Camp Meeting. (Electronic copies of the form cannot be accepted).

Family Night

Family members are invited to come and enjoy camp with their Camper by attending Family Night on Thursday evenings after Miakonda Day Camp. Walk around camp with your Camper and let them guide you to their favorite areas.

Volunteers Needed

Adult volunteers are welcome to be part of Day Camp. All volunteers need to be registered with the Camp Program Assistant and complete safeguarding youth training. If volunteers are not a parent or legal guardian, they must speak with the camp administration. An Adult Volunteer Form must be completed along with Annual Health & Medical Record, Parts A & B. Forms may be obtained by visiting the Iott Scout Shop or online. Volunteers will need to check in at the Memorial Cabin (camp office) daily. All volunteers will receive lunch and a camp patch.

**All rising 1st grade youth will need an adult partner with them each day of camp.**

• Closed toe/heel shoes or hiking boots
• Hat
• Sunscreen
• Bug Spray

All Campers Should Bring

• Backpack with the following items in it:
  • Raincoat/Poncho
  • Swimsuit and Towel
  • Sunscreen (non-aerosol)
  • Bug Spray

Optional Items

• Snacks
• Compass
• Spending Money for the Trading Post

Prohibited Items

• Electronic Devices
• Cell Phones
• Fireworks
• Knives
• Hiking Sticks/Staves
• Valuables (Jewelry, expensive cameras, etc.)

**Your camper should wear proper footwear, such as gym shoes or hiking boots, with socks, or CLOSED TOED Sandals. ABSOLUTELY NO OPEN-TOED SANDALS, SHOWER SHOES, CROCS, OR FLIPFLOPS WILL BE PERMITTED. You will be asked to bring different shoes if your camper arrives in one of these types of footwear. They will not be permitted to participate until proper shoes arrive. This rule applies to adults in attendance as well.

Please make sure all items your camper brings are labeled clearly with their name.

Please remember that this is an outdoor camp with insects and poison ivy.
