BALOO 2027

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
Get Ready for Cub Scout Outdoor Adventures
BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) is the required outdoor training for Cub Scout leaders who want to conduct safe and successful overnight camping experiences. This course combines online learning with an immersive, hands-on outdoor weekend to prepare you to lead Pack and Webelos overnight events with confidence.
Course Requirements
BALOO training consists of two required components:
- Online Training - Complete the BALOO online course through the Scouting America Learn Center at my.scouting.org before attending the in-person course.
- Hands-On Outdoor Training - Attend the weekend of practical training.
Please bring a copy of your online course completion certificate with you to check-in.
You must complete both portions to be recognized as a Trained BALOO Leader.
