“It Ain’t Always Gonna Be Summer”

Keep outdoor activities and camping going all 12 months of the year!! Learn about winter travel, sleep systems, equipment and tents, cooking and nutrition, snow shoes, cross country skiing and outdoor winter games. This "Train the Trainer" program will prepare you to share the knowledge and skills to conduct cold weather activities and camping with your units.

CLASSROOM SESSIONS
Session 1 - October 4, 2026
Session 2 - November 22, 2026
Session 3 - December 6, 2026

All sessions are from 1:30-5:30pm (check-in starts at 1:00)

PRACTICAL WEEKEND
January 16-17, 2027 (arrive 7:30am CT on Saturday, done approx. noon on Sunday)

Open to Scouters & Scouts 14 years of age and older (minimum First Class Rank). Any exception to the minimum youth age of 14 years old requires prior approval from the Course Director. If a participant under the age of 14 is enrolled without the Course Director’s prior approval, we reserve the right to cancel their registration.

 

Attendance at all three classroom sessions and the practical weekend campout is required to complete the course.
