SCOUT FISHING DERBY
WHEN: Sunday, August 19, 2018
WHERE: Tampier Lake – West End - 131st and Will Cook Road
(Take Southwest Highway to 131st Street. Go west on 131st to Will Cook Road. Turn left on Will Cook Road. Proceed to parking entrance on the left.)
TIME: Fishing begins at 11:30am and ends at 2:30pm. All “caught” fish must be brought to the shelter to be measured no later than 2:45pm.
Please note, no fish will be measured after 3:00pm. Prize trophies will be
awarded at approximately 3:45pm.
WHO: Fishing Derby is open to registered Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos, Boy Scouts and their siblings. Please make sure your Scouts and families know their pack number.
COST: $7.00 per Scout or sibling (includes a fishing derby patch). Extra patches may be ordered for an additional $2.00 each.
REGISTRATION:
Registration and payment of fees may be made online NO LATER THAN JUNE 29, 2018, 11:59pm.
Each unit should appoint a unit chairman to handle all registration and collection of fees for the fishing derby. The chairman is to complete the online registration forms, collect fees, inform participating families of
times and rules, and complete the registration forms and payment of fees online.
Registration will also be accepted at the May and June Arrowhead District Roundtables. One check made payable to “Boy Scouts of America”

RULES
1. All registration must be received by June 29, 2018. No exceptions!
2. Fishing is to begin at 11:30am.
3. NO SCOUTS OR SIBLINGS ARE ALLOWED TO FISH IN BOATS.
4. This is a “catch and release” fishing derby. Place “caught” fish in a bucket containing water and bring to shelter to be measured as soon as possible. Fishing Derby Staff will release the measured fish back into the lake.
5. All “caught” fish must be brought to the shelter for measurement no later than 2:45pm.
6. Bait may be purchased at the Bait House Shop, located at the first entrance west of Wolf Road on 131st St. (east end of Tampier Lake). Or, you may bring your own bait.
7. When a scout or sibling brings a fish to the measuring tables at the shelter for the first time, a staff member will confirm that the youth’s name is listed on the registration sheet. If the youth’s name is not listed, the youth will not be eligible for any trophies!! There will be no swapping of names between units.
8. This is a family outing. Please encourage the entire family to join us.

-sunscreen, hat
-raingear
-cameras
-first aid kit
10. If your unit plans to picnic together as a group, please bring signs directing your group to your location.
