2025 National Youth Leadership Training
Course Staff

Youth staff applicants must be least 14 years old by June 2025, a registered member of a Scouts BSA Troop, a Venturing Crew or a Sea Scout Ship and have attained First Class or an equivalent rank. All youth staff applicants must have attended and completed an NYLT course. Additionally, youth and adults must obtain the approval of the NYLT Course Director prior to submitting an application to staff NYLT. Adult Staff must be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America. Wood Badge preferred.

NYLT staff members are expected to participate in all staff training sessions and be present for the entire course and pre course. If you are interested in staffing, please know that any presentations assigned will need to be in final form before the April staff training weekend.

Per BSA guidelines, all staff - youth and adult - must complete online Youth Protection Training and provide a copy of the YPT certificate to the NYLT Scoutmaster no later than April 4th, 2024. Online YPT must be valid through the last day of the course the youth is staffing.

Staff development weekend: Camp Betz

April 4-6, 2025: 9:00 AM Saturday - 12:30 PM Sunday

The course and all staff development sessions run on CENTRAL (Chicago) time.
