The Lakota Lodge announces this year's 21st Annual Haunted Hike, Night Terror!, Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22 at the historical Methodist Campground on the banks of the Des Plaines River, just east of Des Plaines.

The Methodist Camp first opened in the 1800's and with the old buildings and woods, the camp makes a perfect setting for a night of chills. The Hike travels through much of the camp, where the Lodge youth wait for the guests.

The Hike starts at 7:00PM Friday and then ramps up to Extra Scary from 9:30-10:30. On Saturday, a Fright Free "Flashlight Hike" runs 3:00-5:30, then the regular Hike goes 6:00-10:30, with the Extra Scary again starting at 9:30.

The Fright Free Hike is a big draw as it gives the younger and more easily scared folks to come out and have a chance to see how things work with the staff stepping back, removing masks and explaining that it is all make-believe. It is a great opportunity for kids to see how things work and want to come back for the full treatment when they are older.

In addition to the Hike itself, we have a circus tent at the front with a rock band and other entertainment. Nearby, there will be a bonfire and Packs and others like to bring marshmallows and other supplies and stay a while longer.

All this is a bargain, especially compared to area haunted houses. Cost is:
$7 for Scouts and Scouters in uniform,
$8 for kids and
$9 for adults,13 and up.
$9 all on-line registrations.
