Cub Scout STEM Workshop: Exploring Fluid Power & Simple Machines
This exciting hands-on event introduces Cub Scouts to the world of fluid power (hydraulics) and simple machines through engaging, age-appropriate engineering activities. Each Scout will build one of four functional hydraulic devices—such as a scissor lift, platform lifter, crane, or excavator arm—using a high-quality wooden STEM kit.
As they construct and test their machines, Scouts will learn from Triton Professor Antigone Sharris how levers and linkages work, gain a deeper understanding of the mechanical principles behind the full-sized equipment seen on construction sites and learn about opportunities in the fields of engineering, construction, manufacturing and beyond.
Every participant will:
- Build and take home their own hydraulic machine
 - Earn a Scouting America Cub Scout Adventure Loop
 - Be inspired to design their own machines and explore real-world engineering

This event is perfect for sparking curiosity, building confidence, and laying the foundation for future STEM learning.
$12 per Scout (space is limited to 38 Cub Scouts)
Depending on the Cub Scout rank, each Scout will be awarded the related Adventure loop for their completion of the program.
