Event Details

These are for additional tickets to Field Museum

We will meet at the East Entrance at 9:00 am.

Arrival and Checking In

  • We enter at the East entrance, where groups check-in.
  • We will check in as a group so please don't be late!

Visiting Exhibits

  • All tours are self-guided at this time. We encourage you to consult the Field Museum website for more information about exhibits
  • Unfortunately, our group is too large, and the Field Museum would not let us book a 3D film. If you would like to purchase separately as a family, you are more than welcome to.
  • Not sure which exhibits are best? Consult these guides:
    • Pre-K-1st Which exhibits should my class visit?
    • 2nd-5th Which exhibits should my class visit?
    • 6th-12th Which exhibits should my class visit?

Maps

  • Physical maps will be available for adult chaperones on the day of your trip
  • You can find virtual, interactive museum maps here.

Science Hub, Meet a Scientist, and Discovery Squad

  • Don’t forget to stop by the Grainger Science Hub located on the main floor! Scouts can explore real specimens from the Field’s collection with fun, hands-on activities and discussions led by Field Museum staff. Drop in daily from 10 am - 3 pm.
  • Check our Events page to see if the Meet a Scientist or Discovery Squad will be available on the day of your visit!

Chaperones

  • Chaperones must stay with and supervise the conduct of their scouts at all times. Chaperones are responsible for the safety and well-being of their scouts and should encourage scouts to respect the space, artifacts, displays, and other visitors.

Accessibility

  • If your group has specific needs for accessibility, please visit our Accessibility page. Let us know if you have questions or need further accommodations for the day of your visit.

Food

  • Food and drink are not permitted in the exhibits.
  • Vending machines, as well as the Bistro and Explorer Cafe, are available to purchase food and drink.
  • There are several water bottle filling stations throughout the museums near washrooms.
  • Students may carry backpacks in the exhibits.
  • Free lunch seating is available in the Sea Mammals area on the Ground Level and outdoors on the patio. This limited space is first-come, first-served. Please bring lunches in backpacks if choosing this option.
  • Do not bring coolers, bins, or boxes. There is nowhere to store them.

Covid Policies

  • While we no longer require masks for the public, we strongly encourage all our guests to wear masks while in the building. If you are feeling sick, please visit at another time.
