Scout Shabbat
In recognition of the founding of the Boy Scouts of America on February 8, 1910, the National Jewish Committee on Scouting has designated the second Shabbat in February as Scout Shabbat. Scouts of all ages in the Pathway to Adventure Council are invited to attend a special service in uniform at Anshe Emet Synagogue on the morning of Saturday, February 10, 2024. All Scouts who register, pay, and attend will receive a 2024 Scout Shabbat patch.
Cub Scouts who wish to participate will be welcome to lead the congregation in Ashrei and Adon Olam. Scouts above the age of b'nai mitzvah (and parents) may volunteer to leyn or to take an aliyah by writing to ScoutShabbat@chicagocubscouts.org.
Please note that all attendees ‒ Scouts, parents, and siblings ‒ must register in advance. Registration is not complete until you have visited the payment page. All funds received in excess of the cost of obtaining and distributing the patches will be donated to Anshe Emet Synagogue.
