NRA BASIC CERTIFICATION TRAININGS
Basic Rifle Certification
- Friday, April 14 (5pm checkin) - Sunday, April 16 (2pm or after testing complete)
- Certification is a mixture of Classroom and Range time
Basic Shotgun Certification
- Friday, April 14 (5pm checkin) - Sunday, April 16 (2pm or after testing complete)
- Certification is a mixture of Classroom and Range time
Class size: Minimum 10 people – Maximum 20 people.
Minimum Age: 21 years old
Course fee: $125.00 per person per class (Normally these courses cost $150.00 and up! – Take advantage of the BSA savings for Scouters!) (Includes Dinner Friday evening through Sunday lunch)
Rifle Course Description:
This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate. Students will utilize the instructor’s firearms and ammunition.
Please note – To be an NRA Certified Rifle Instructor which will allow you to run a BSA range, you must complete both of the following NRA courses:
- NRA Basic Rifle Certification (This course)
- NRA Rifle Instructor Training
Shotgun Course Description:
This course includes classroom and range time learning how to shoot shotguns at moving targets. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; shotgun shell components; shotgun shell malfunctions; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting at straight away and angled targets; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Shotgun Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate. Students will utilize the instructor’s firearms and ammunition.
Please note – To be an NRA Certified Shotgun Instructor, which will allow you to run a BSA range, you must complete both of the following NRA courses:
- NRA Basic Shotgun Certification (This course)
- NRA Shotgun Instructor Training
PARTICIPANTS MAY COMPLETE BOTH RIFLE AND SHOTGUN TOGETHER BUT MUST REGISTER AND PAY FOR BOTH
