Fall Recruitment Training Webinars

Below are the courses, along with their objectives, that will be offered during September and October (session dates are in parenthesis). Two session dates for each course are offered for your scheduling convenience. Each session starts at 7:30pm and will last 60 minutes (including Q&A).  Webinars will be recorded and uploaded to the PTAC Membership Website for future use.

New Member Coordinator (Oct. 25th)
In this course will help you learn about the Leadership position(s) of the New Member Coordinator for Packs, Troops, Ships and Crews.  The purpose of this position is to help onboard and Welcome your new Scouts and their families to your unit.  Sustaining strong membership in a unit depends on reaching new audiences to invite them to join the unit and partly on engaging new members and their families so they feel welcomed and want to stay.


Recruitment (Oct. 17th)
Recruitment goes beyond holding either a Fall or Spring recruitment event in your Pack or Troop.In this course, you will learn the importance behind a year-round recruitment along with the different components and available tools for a successful recruitment event, which includes the use of a New Member Coordinator.


Acclimating the New Scout and their Family to your unit (Sept. 27th or Oct. 10th)
This course will help you re-thinking how we can acclimate your new youth and their families to your unit.  This approach can lead to increased retention (youth & adult) along with parental involvement, which could lead to grow in membership.  We will explain the “Why” followed by the “How” and the “What” behind the need to make everyone feel welcome.


Using Technology to help your unit grow (Oct. 19th)
Will cover how the Membership Tools can support your unit’s recruitment.  Primary focus will be on Peer-to-Peer Recruitment + Invitation Engine, Customized Videos, Invitation & Application Manager, BeAScout Pin, Geo-Fencing / Facebook along with Slack, Next Door & Patch.com.  This course is not designed to train you on how to use these technology examples.


BeAScout Pin + Invitation / Application Manager (Nov 9th)
In this course, you will learn the importance on how the BeAScout Pin, Invitation and Application Manager tools support each other.  These tools allows families to locate units within their neighborhood or community, reach out for additional information (Lead) or they can join by filling out an Online Application.
