First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Course

Purpose  

Having Scouts trained in CPR aligns directly with the core mission of Scouting America. It ensures youth and adult leaders are "Be Prepared" to handle medical emergencies during outdoor activities, supports the Scout Oath to "help other people at all times", and equips them with vital, lifesaving skills.  Having volunteer trainers throughout our council will allow more of our scouts and scouters to receive this very important training.  Once certified you will be eligible to use council equipment to provide CPR training.  

Course Description

This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid CPR and AED courses.
In order to participate in this course you must:

• Possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent
• Be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course

Upon registration it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content, a skills session, and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. Participant limits:  Minimum 3.  Maximum 6.
