Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Position Specific Training

Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Training
What happened? They asked you to be the Scoutmaster, that’s what. You thought it over, and you told them you didn’t know much about it but you’d give it a try.
The congratulations and rejoicing are still ringing in your ears. But now what? We can almost hear your questions: What’s my job? How will I learn it? Who is going to help me? What do I do first?
Fair questions, and the purpose of the Scoutmaster/Asst. Scoutmaster training program is to try to answer them – plus many more you haven’t even thought of asking yet, such as “What's Scouting all about, really?”
Are you a leader in a girl troop or are you part of a troop merging into a family unit? Our staff includes Scouters who serve girl units. They have valuable insight for you.
Instructor-led Scoutmaster training is being offered on Saturday, March 21, from 9 am until 3:30 pm at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 500 E 31st St, La Grange Park, IL.
There is no fee for the course, coffee and snacks will be available using a “kitty’ to pay for them. Bring a “brown bag” lunch. Course specified handouts will be provided and a USB drive with extra Scouting America materials may be downloaded for free to your laptop or purchased at our $3 cost for the USB drive.
