Cub Scout Fishing Derby

This Fishing Derby is open to registered Cub Scouts of the Checaugau, Portage Creek, Tall Grass and Iron Horse districts. 

Scouts will have the opportunity to work toward their Fishing Adventure requirements. This will include fishing and water safety, choosing where to fish and what kinds of fish you may catch, bait and lure selection, knot tieing, and casting.

We'll end the afternoon awarding the winner of a Pitch, Flip, Cast competition - scores will need to be registered by 12:00pm. 

$10 per Scout

Note: Anyone under the age of 16 in Illinois does not need a license to fish. The adult accompanying a child fishing does not need a fishing license if he/she does not participate in fishing at all. Usually the adult casts, sets the hook, and/or helps the child reel in, in which case, that adult would need a valid Illinois fishing license.
