Cub Scout Day Camp 2026 – Jurassic Camp

Travel back to the age of dinosaurs for a prehistoric Cub Scout adventure at Cricket Holler Scout Camp! Cub Scouts will dig for fossils, create dinosaur-themed crafts, trek through the Cricket Holler jungle, test their skills at the target range, cool off with water fun, and experience a week full of dino-sized excitement and adventure.

Session 1: June 15–19, 2026

Session 2: June 22–26, 2026

Both sessions will be held at Cricket Holler Scout Camp.

Who Can Attend

All registered Cub Scouts entering in school year 2026-27:

• *Tiger - 1st grade
• Wolf - 2nd grade
• Bear - 3rd grade
• Webelos - 4th grade
• Arrow of Light - 5th grade

*Note: All Tiger scouts MUST be accompanied by an adult partner during all scouting activities including each day of day camp.

Daily Schedule

8:45 – 9:00 AM: Daily Check-in with Walking Group Leader

9:00 – 9:15 AM: Opening at main flag pole

9:20 – 9:50 AM: Station 1

9:55 – 10:25 AM: Station 2

10:30 – 11:00 AM: Station 3

11:05 – 11:35 AM: Station 4

11:40 AM – 12:40 PM: Lunch & Trading Post Visits

12:45 – 1:15 PM: Station 5

1:20 – 1:50 PM: Station 6

1:55 – 2:40 PM: Camp Wide Activity

2:45 – 3:00 PM: Closing

3:00 – 3:15 PM: Daily Check-out with Walking Group Leader

Daily Program Areas

Scouts will participate in six themed stations each day:

• Mesozoic Mess Hall – Cooking
• Great Herd Arena – Large Group Games
• Excavation Station – Gems and Fossils
• Pterosaur Target Range – Range and Target Sports
• Dino Discovery Den – Dinosaur Facts & Science
• Cretaceous Creations – Crafts

Special activities and surprise programs will also take place throughout the week during lunch periods and camp-wide activity times.

A requirements completion file will be uploaded to BAND following camp. Units will be responsible for entering completed adventures and requirements into Scoutbook Plus for each Scout.

Camp Communication

The BAND app will be the primary communication platform for leaders and families before and during camp. Families should join the BAND group for their specific camp session to receive:

• Camp reminders and updates
• Important announcements
• Daily photos from camp
• Schedule and activity information

What to Bring to Day Camp

Please bring the following items each day:

• Annual Health Form (Parts A & B) and copy of insurance card (front & back) for each attendee - turned in on Monday check-in and kept with Health Officer for the week, then returned at check-out on Friday
• Any medications needed during camp in original labeled containers
• Packed lunch and drink
• Camp uniform (camp shirt or scout activity shirt, shorts/pants, tennis shoes - dress for the weather each day)
• Water bottle
• Sun protection (hat and sunscreen)
• Rain gear (poncho or rain jacket)
• Small backpack or day pack
• Cash for the Trading Post
• Towel and change of clothes for water activity days
