On The Buckskin Trail, you will become a member of a patrol, as part of a model Troop. You will learn about the aims and methods of Scouting, about the roles adults and youth play in a troop, and the skills needed to carry on a quality outdoor program. You'll have the opportunity to camp and work with other leaders from all over the Council as you learn valuable information and refresh your skills.

The Buckskin Trail is held on one Wednesday evening and two full weekends in April and May. An additional outside Patrol meeting or meetings may be necessary. Participants who complete the Trail will be receive training for Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, Leader Specific: Scoutmaster/Asst. Scoutmaster Training, Outdoor Webelos Leader Training (OWL), and (new this year!) Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO).** That means that Cub Leaders can fulfill the requirements for OWL and BALOO, and already be trained as an assistant scoutmaster when they cross over to the Troop level.

The Buckskin Trail will help you, as a leader, provide a meaningful, effective program for your Scouts, while keeping it all FUN!
