2026 Cub Scout Fall Campout: Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday at Cricket Holler!

Join us at Cricket Holler for a special weekend celebrating America’s 250th Birthday! Step back in time and experience history through hands-on activities, outdoor adventures, traditional games, and Scouting fun.

Whether your family is brand new to Cub Scouting or you’ve been part of the Scouting adventure for years, this event has something for everyone! Scouts will explore what life was like in early America, learn new skills, enjoy the outdoors, and take part in a special service project to help care for Cricket Holler.

As part of the celebration, we’ll also place a special time capsule at camp to commemorate America’s 250th birthday. And, of course, every Scout will earn the America 250 Patch!

Activities for Lions, Tigers, Wolves & Bears

Younger Cub Scouts will have the opportunity to participate in:

• Leave No Trace Battledore
• Colonial games, including Skittles and Scotch Hoppers
• Candle making and herbal sachets
• Make Johnny cakes and churn butter
• Marbles
• Archery
• Backyard Bass
• A special service project for Cricket Holler

Activities for Webelos & Arrow of Light Scouts

Our older Cub Scouts will put their outdoor and Scouting skills to the test with:

• Fire Building Challenge
• Golden Griddle Challenge
• Colonial games, including Skittles and Scotch Hoppers
• 10 Essentials Relay
• Fishing Challenge
• Knot Challenge
• Archery
• A special service project for Cricket Holler

Cost

• $35 – Scout or Sibling
• $25 – Den Chief
• $10 – Adult

Saturday Lunch is provided for all registered participants.
