A Wilderness Survival Primer

Will you Survive? Or Thrive?

Camp-O-Ree Information: 

The following Boy Scout skills will be part of the Camp-O-Ree Programming:

• Primitive Fire Building
• Water Purification and Sanitation
• Trap Building
• Basic Knot Tying
• Shelter Building

The skills portion of the Camp-O-Ree on Saturday is to teach and reinforce basic Scout skills as they relate to surviving in the wilderness. These are requirements as they relate to the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge. Patrols should contact a Wilderness Survival Merit Badge counselor in advance. Requirements 6, 8, and 10 will be covered at the Camp-O-Ree. A Scout who is fully prepared to complete these requirements and be ready to discuss the remaining requirements will be able to schedule time with a counselor during the end of the Camp-O-Ree.
