2023 National Scout Jamboree

Dates: (preliminary-to be confirmed)

• Departure approximately 11:30 pm on July 18th, 2023
• July 19 to July 28, 2023-Jamboree Program at The Summit, WV
• Return home July 28, 2023

Qualifications:

• Be a registered member of the BSA in one of the following programs: Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouting, or Exploring.
• Youth Participants: MUST be at least 12 years old of age by July 19, 2023 and not reached their 18th birthday by 7/28/2023. Be approval by the unit leader. Completing Scouts BSA First Class rank is highly recommended.
• Young Adult Participants: MUST be at least 18 years old by July 19, 2023 but not yet 21 by July 28, 2023. MUST be housed as an adult due to chronological age, while allowed to participate in the program with youth participants.  Be approved by the unit leader.
• All: Be approved by the Simon Kenton Council Jamboree Committee; have parent/guardian online consent completed; file online Jamboree BSA Health and Medical form dated after July 29, 2022 (within one year of Jamboree).
• All: Must participate in  pre-Jamboree experience with the local council and unit leader.
• All: Submit all registration fees per the payment schedule.

Registration:

Complete the council registration; and the National on-line registration at https://jamboree.scouting.org/ , and make payments as described on the event flyer to the Simon Kenton Council.

Financial Details:

​The total early bird costs (payments started to SKC prior to 10/31/2022) for each participant is $1,800.00.  An initial payment made after the early bird deadline results in a participant cost of $2,015. The early bird participant fee increase is a BSA National Council requirement. Both costs are subject to change if there are significant increases in transportation fuel costs or trip expenses. The cost includes transportation, meals en route to and from the jamboree, special patches, patrol and troop equipment, and Jamboree training meetings.  A payment schedule is attached with installments due beginning with registration, and the final payment due March 2023.  When National Scholarships become available the scholarship form will be posted
