Dear Scouts and Scouters,

Welcome to the University of Scouting 2023 – We’re Back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you to the many Participants, Instructors Staff, and Scouts of this year’s UoS.

Thanks to the participants who are vital to the Scouting movement and the comeback that is currently underway from Covid-19, the lawsuit, and membership standard changes. You are the future of the Scouting movement – without your help Scouts will not have trained leaders to ensure the promise of Scouting is delivered to every Scout – regardless of the program they are enrolled in. Thanks for the many hours you have given, and will give, the BSA.

Thanks to the instructors who have generously given of their time and talents to prepare and present course materials – to enable Scouters to deliver a quality program for Scouts in their units. These instructors are vital to the future of the BSA, your efforts have a ripple effect in the Scouting community and directly influence Scouts through leaders.

To the UoS Scouting Staff – without you none of this is possible. All of you excelled with a short timeline – thanks for being part of this event with me. Because of you, Scouters deliver quality programs to their units, ensuring the future of the Scouting Movement.

To the Scouts, we are all here because of you. All of us want you to have trained leaders to deliver the Scouting program as it was meant to be. Enjoy the day and the merit badge offerings.

This year’s theme is “We’re Back”. Back indoors, back at Westerville North High School, and our movement is back from the challenges of the last few years.

Please review the course offerings in the attached catalog link and come join us for the day.  Please note the times available for all colleges as you can attend classes from any college.  Scouts should also note the pre-requisites for the Merit Badge offerings.  It is a six-segment day with a lunch.  Don’t forget to plan time to explore the Midway and register for any one of several prizes provided by our Midway partners.
