2022 University of Scouting, "The Magic of Training"

Event Details

Dear Scouts and Scouters,

As we look at the ever-changing world we live in, it is important that we recognize how essential the Scouting Program is to ensure that we are raising responsible, capable youth leaders.  The education of both our youth and our adult volunteers is vital for the success of the scouting program.  To that end, I invite both scouts and adult volunteers to the 2022 University of Scouting.  This is an in-person training event on Saturday, November 19th.  It is a great day of learning and fellowship.

While University of Scouting has mainly been focused on adult training, this year we have extended the Youth Adventure College to include more than just Venturers and Sea Scouts.  We are now including courses for Scouts looking to take leadership positions in their units as well as scouts starting to work on their Eagle projects.  We have identified recommended “treks” for these positions as well as “treks” for new scout leaders.  We are again offering the Scouts BSA, Cub Scout, Commissioners, and Scout Essentials colleges.  We are also offering a limited number of Merit Badges as part of our Youth College.

The instructors for each course have been selected for their knowledge and enthusiasm for the course material and we appreciate and thank them for the dedication to Scouting.  We want to thank them in advance as well as the Deans of our colleges, the committee members, our midway partners, and our professional staff.  We could not hold this annual event without them!

Please review the course offerings in the attached catalog link and come join us for the day.  Please note the times available for all colleges as you can attend classes from any college.  Scouts should also note the pre-requisites for the Merit Badge offerings.  It is a six-segment day with a lunch.  Don’t forget to plan time to explore the Midway and register for any one of several prizes provided by our Midway partners.

We cannot wait to see all of you at University of Scouting 2022!

Yours in Scouting,

Lisa Murray

2022 Provost
