March 24-26, 2017
The Simon Kenton Council, BSA, and the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics invite you to become a Leave No Trace Trainer!
This course is for all Scouters and Scouts 14 years old or older. Upon successful completion of the Leave No Trace Trainer Course, each participant will become a qualified Leave No Trace Trainer.
Those who complete the course are equipped to:
• Understand, demonstrate, and teach minimum impact techniques
• Lead outdoor ethics discussions and help others explore their own personal outdoor ethic
• Conduct Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops
When and Where
6:00 pm, Friday, March 24, 2017, through 11:00 am, Sunday, March 26, 2017. Camp Falling Rock, Sequoia Lodge - 12637 Houdeshell Rd, Newark, OH (Located 11 miles north of Newark, Ohio) Visit the Council web site for a map. Participants must complete all 16 hours of the training to graduate from this course.
Cost
$55, if paid by 2/11/17. $65 after 2/11/17.
This covers all food and course materials.
What to Bring: water bottle, mug for hot drinks, mess kit, notebook/pen, camping gear (tent, sleeping bag and pad), and clothing appropriate for the weather including rain gear (part of class will be conducted outdoors). Everyone will need to prepare a 5-7 minute presentation on 1 of the 7 LNT principles and present it during the weekend (the topic for presentation will be assigned after registration). Bring supplies you need for your presentation.
This course is limited to 20 participants.
