Metalwork Merit Badge
Metal Work Merit Badge at Kent State University
What: Metalwork Merit Badge
Kent State University is one of 25 colleges and universities in the United States to be accredited by the American Foundry Society.
*All event attendees are required to wear full leather footwear (leather hiking boots are great!) and full-length jeans. No synthetic fiber clothing. Cotton or wool clothing only!
*Unfortunately, melting will be done in an induction furnace so attendees with a Pacemaker cannot participate/view the activities in the labs.
*Attendees should read the Metalwork Merit Badge handbook prior to the event with special emphasis placed on pages 9-30 and the founder’s section in the most recent Metalwork Merit Badge handbook.
*Parking is in lot C Math and Science. Please check in at least 15 minutes prior to the event starting time.
