Welding Exploration

Welding Exploration
February 28th
10am-2pm
Welding is the process of joining with a weld – joining or combining similar pieces of metal by heating them with a flame torch or an electric current, then hammering or pressing them together while they are soft. Welding plays a major role in our modern world, and mastery of the skill can lead to exciting career opportunities. With adequate and complete work at home before or after and active, on-task participation during the session, Scouts can expect to complete the Welding Merit Badge.
While this session is open to Cub Scouts, only those in or above 5th grade will be able to handle the metal welder. Those younger than 5th grade will still be able ot participate in chocolate welding, VR welding, and other activities during the day.
