Event Details

PHILMONT SCOUT RANCH
Philmont Scout Ranch, the Boy Scouts of America's premier high-adventure base, challenges Scouts and Venturers in the rugged outdoors. Participants will enjoy exploring the more than 200 square miles of rugged New Mexico wilderness, which includes a variety of activities over a 12-day trek at Philmont. The Philmont Contingent Committee reserves the right to not accept a registration if the candidate is not fit physically or emotionally for the trip.  http://www.philmontscoutranch.org

The Lake Erie Council will be sending a council contingent to Philmont Scout Ranch in 2019! We are planning to send 3 crews of up to 36 total participants.

WHO
Individual or group registrations will be accepted.  Must be a currently registered Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturer, or Sea Scout.

Minimum age: Philmont requires that all youth must be 14 years of age OR 13 years of age AND have completed the 8th grade. NO EXCEPTIONS. Philmont has maximum height/weight ratio requirements to insure that participants are physically capable of the expedition.  You can find information on these requirements here.  Participants must know and use the Scout Oath and Law as their guide to appropriate behavior.


WHEN
Trek Dates: June 15 - June 27, 2019 

Please make arrangements to leave 2 Days before the day the trek begins and return 1-2 Days after the trek ends. Specific travel arrangements are made closer to the Trek Date.

COST
The total fee for contingent participants will be approximately $1,650.  The fee includes all Philmont Scout Ranch fees, travel arrangements, and special mementos. Spots are limited.  A non-refundable $175 deposit is required to reserve a spot.
 

Participants will receive additional information late 2018 and early 2019 related to travel arrangements, program opportunities, and trip preparations.  The Lake Erie Council reserves the right to add qualified participants to all crews up to the maximum registration limit. 

The trip is coed and open to scouts, who are 14, or will be 13 and have completed 8th grade by June of 2019.
