Outdoor Cooking Exploration

Outdoor Cooking Exploration
March 28th
10am-2pm
Learn the principles and techniques of cooking that can be used specifically in the outdoors, either camping or while on a hike. Through this Lab you will learn about food safety, nutritional guidelines, meal planning, and methods of food preparation while outside, and will review the variety of culinary (or cooking) careers available. Students will learn the importance of Leave No Trace when outdoors, and how to complete cooking if the weather changes. Students will be making (and eating) their own food in this lab! Lab will run rain or shine. Scouts will work towards completing requirements 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 of the Cooking Merit Badge.
