August 6, 2021

When:  Noon to 4:00 pm

Why:  Cybersecurity is a significant challenge facing our society....Cyber-crime causes tens of billions of dollars damage each year to the U.S. economy, and hundreds of billions globally.

Recent estimates state that the cybersecurity worker shortage will grow to 1.8 million by 2022. Among professionals surveyed in North America, 68% said there are currently too few cybersecurity workers in their department, and the majority believe that the main reason for this is the difficulty in finding qualified personnel.

The Lake Erie Council, The University of Akron and Key Factor....A world leader in Cyber securityy have teamed up to offer Scouts a unique look into how to stay safe online!

Scouts will work on the proposed 2018 Cybersecurity merit badge requirements including:

System Security
Network Security
Cryptography

Although you will NOT earn a merit badge with this bootcamp...Because it does not officially exist...Scouts will have a greater understanding of the threats faced online and how to prevent trouble in the future!
