Station 1:  Scoutcraft / Amphitheater Area

Materials needed: 50 foot Rope

Ice Rescue – a fellow scout fell into the water and needs to be rescued. You will need to use your ropes to rescue the scout. After rescuing from the icy waters you will need to perform first aid for icy water immersion.

Fire building – The scout is still cold and shivering. Now you need to build a fire as quick as you can to warm them. A quick fire that can warm them without using BSA Banned items. No gas, no torches, etc. something will be provided to simulate warming the scout.

Station 2: Field behind the Ford Commissioner Building

Materials needed: 6 foot ropes, safety glasses, gloves

Knots – Knot relay

Lashing – To be determined.

Two Man Saw – use a bow saw to cut a 1 inch thick wafer from a log. After it is cut we have a special Branding Iron to brand the wood.

Station 3: Gold Griddle Cookoff @ Schwartz Road

(in Front of Ford Commissioner Cabin)

Lunch instructions: See Gold Griddle rules. Will be added as separate attachments. If your Patrol is not comfortable participating in the Gold Griddle ….don’t. We do not want anyone to feel at risk for the sake of the competition. Please cook in your campsite / cabin.

After cooking, put out your fire and put your garbage in a trash bag before throwing it in a trash can. Rough clean your utensils, cookware, etc. using water or snow. You may finish cleaning your gear, later at your campsite. Make sure your cooking area is absolutely clean before you depart. No debris or garbage is to be buried.

Metal ground cover and hot charcoal will be provided.

Station 4:  Ranges

Materials needed: Safety glasses

MuzzleLoader – You get to shoot a black powder Rifle.

Tomahawk – Can you hit the target?

Bullet mold:  Mold a bullet.  (Hot item at this Klondike)

Station 5: Moritz Pavilion area

Materials needed: Scout spirit, sense of humor, open mind.

4 / 6 man skis – fun in the snow.

Snoe Shoes kind of- Try homemade snowshoes

 

Other snow activities – or other activities depending on whether we have snow or mud.

All Day Scavenger hunt – Guidelines provided at the event

Sledrace: Be prepared, there may be snow…there may be mud.
