Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) is required for all Scouting America registered adult volunteers and is a joining requirement. This training reflects Scouting America’s continued commitment to maintaining a culture of active supervision, awareness, and safety. SYT reinforces youth protection policies and equips participants to recognize, respond to, and help prevent abuse.

This in-person training is for you if:

• Your YPT or SYT expires on or before May 31, 2026*
• You are unable to take the SYT course online
• You prefer to complete SYT in person

*You can check your YPT/SYT expiration date by logging into my.scouting.org. Your expiration date appears on the center of the homepage under your name and member ID.

Full attendance and a score of 80% or higher on the assessment are required to receive credit for this training.
