IOLS - Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills

Scoutmasters & Assistant Scoutmasters

This Outdoor Scouts BSA Leader training will help you understand the concepts of the scouting program, the Patrol method and give you a solid foundation to be a great leader.  This is a hands-on course that teaches you how to deliver an outdoor program, and to instruct your Scouts in their ST21 skills.

This is a required training for all Scoutmasters & Assistant Scoutmasters.  This course, along with Scoutmaster Position Specific, YPT and Hazardous Weather (SCO_800) are required to be considered Trained in your position.

Any adult that is registered with Scouting America and has a current YPT is eligible to take this course.  It is not required to be a Scoutmaster or Asst. Scoutmaster to attend.

IOLS is an overnight training event.  Participants will be tent camping using their own gear.
