NYLT is a 5-day training course for youth leaders registered in Scouts BSA, Venturing or Sea Scouts. Before registering, please get a troop leader recommendation. While NYLT is not an outdoor skills course, it is important that each participant has basic camping and outdoor cooking experience.

Participants are required to attend the entire time period (morning of August 4 through afternoon of August 8). Participants may arrive after 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 3 and stay over the evening before the course start if they would like.

There will be an OA event taking place at Heart Butte on Friday, August 8 through the following Sunday, and there will be plenty of adult leadership in place if any youth need to be picked up on Friday evening or Saturday morning. Please notify ryan.hansen@scouting.org if you plan to pick up your Scout(s) after Friday afternoon.

A complete leaders guide and required forms for signature is included in the Welcome Letter in the attachments section. Those who register by June 15 will be guaranteed their shirt size selection. Those registered after June 15 will still be able to select a shirt size, but there is a small chance we wont be able to provide the exact size.
