Western Spring Camporee

Welcome to the Western Camporee! This unique event offers an immersive experience into the life and times of the Civil War era.
Scouts BSA youth and their Leaders will step back in time and participate in a variety of activities that were common during the Civil War period. They will have the opportunity to taste period meals, prepared using recipes and techniques from the 1860s, offering a true taste of the past.
The camporee includes a range of exciting activities. Scouts will have the chance to learn and practice their knot-tying and lashing skills, which are necessary for Scouting advancement. They can also try their hand at archery, a skill that was essential for survival in the Civil War era.
One of the highlights of the camporee will undoubtedly be the presence of Civil War reenactors. These passionate historians will provide a living history lesson, recreating battles and everyday life from the Civil War period. Scouts will have the chance to interact with these reenactors, ask questions, and learn firsthand about this pivotal period in American history.
This Civil War-themed Scout Camporee promises to be an unforgettable experience, combining fun, learning, and the timeless values of Scouting. We look forward to welcoming you to this journey back in time!
