National Jamboree 2023

Event Details

Event Details:

For most Scouts the National Jamboree is a once in a lifetime event; it only occurs once every 4 years and the minimum age for participation is 12!

This event is open to all youth involved Scouts BSA and adults may attend as participants for the FIRST TIME EVER!

The cost for the Jamboree is $3,700 and includes:  roundtrip airfare to Washington DC; all meals; deluxe motor coach for half day sightseeing in DC, overnight hotel accommodations in Pennsylvania, tour of Gettysburg and transportation to The Summit; National Jamboree fee; Jamboree “swag”.  The only expense beyond the $3,700 is personal spending money.

Veteran Scouter and Eagle Scout Mark Zimmerman from Bismarck is serving as the Jamboree Scout Master.

Our Jamboree Troop is limited to 40 participants with a minimum of 4 adults required to fill the leadership positions: Scout Master, First Assistant SM, Second Assistant SM and Third Assistant SM.  Any adult interested in serving in a leadership role should contact Dale Musgrave, Jamboree staff advisor.

When and Where:

The Summit Bechtel Family Scouting Reserve, Glen Jean, WV

Depart Monday 07-17-2023 and return Friday 07-28-2023.  Times to be determined.

More Information:

Registration Fee:  $3,700

Minimum $250 deposit required to secure your spot and total payments due at the end of each quarter as follows:  $750 by June 2022, $1,500 by September 2022, $2250 by December 2022, $3,000 by March 2023 and $3,700 by June 2023.

Monthly payment plans may be established but the quarterly balances must be met as scheduled.

Special popcorn sale incentive:  Scouts selling popcorn through the National Jamboree Troop will earn 40% commission.  Scouts must participate through the Jamboree Troop and will not qualify for any prize incentives.  To calculate the sales needed, determine how much the Scout would like to earn toward the Jamboree and divide the amount by .40 (40%).  For example, a Scout with a goal of $1,000 toward the Jamboree from popcorn sales would need to sell $2,500; 1000/.40 = 2,500.
