Camp Grafton Merit Badge Weekend | 10th Anniversary
Join us for a one of a kind merit badge weekend at Camp Grafton, hosted by the North Dakota National Guard! This popular event only happens once a year and always fills quickly, so register today to secure your spot. This year, we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of this event! Scouts will sleep in bunks, enjoy meals in the dining hall, and have the unique opportunity to learn directly from the instructors in the National Guard, who will help teach merit badge sessions. This event is always a hit with Scouts every year!
Scouts and adults must complete the waivers & agreements which will be sent via email closer to the event. Registration must be completed online prior to attending. Youth Scouts BSA members are $65 and adults are $50. Registration closes at 11:59 PM on Saturday, September 12.
Merit Badge Class Size Limits:
- Communication - 16
- Cooking – 6
- Drafting – 14
- Emergency Preparedness - 16
- First Aid - 16
- Home Repairs – 14
- Orienteering – 16
- Plumbing – 16
- Surveying – 14
All available classes have been added to this year’s schedule, and the schedule is now final. We will also offer two evening classes on Saturday: Crime Prevention and Entrepreneurship. There is no class size limit for these sessions, but pre-registration is appreciated.
Important Notes:
- Communication and Emergency Preparedness both have pre-requisites. Please review these in the Leaders Guide or during online class sign-up.
- Adults must have a photo ID to enter Camp Grafton.
- Scouts and adults must each bring AHMR Medical Forms A & B.
- All meals and sleeping arrangements are provided. Please bring a sleeping bag (or sheets and blankets) and a pillow.
- Merit badge blue cards will be sent out electronically, similar to other council events.
Schedule and Location:
- Arrival: Friday, September 18 between 7:00 and 9:00 PM
- Departure: Sunday, September 20 by 10:00 AM
- Location: Camp Grafton, 5 miles south of Devils Lake on Highway 20
Friday night will include crackerbarrell, check-in, and a brief welcome session. Saturday will include meals and merit badges, along with a movie night and presentation from a recruiter. We will have breakast and check-out on Sunday morning.
