Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

Event Details
FALL BALOO 2026
Camping is often the #1 reason kids join Cub Scouts—and BALOO is your key to delivering that magic! To host a pack or den outdoor overnight event, Scouting America requires at least one registered adult leader present to be BALOO-trained.

This isn't just a lecture in a classroom; it’s an immersive, hands-on outdoor experience designed to build your confidence and give you the tools to run safe, fun, and memorable campouts. You'll spend the weekend outdoors learning directly from experienced leaders, testing out outdoor skills, mastering campsite cooking, and experiencing Cub Scout traditions around the campfire.

What You’ll Gain:
  • Outdoor Skills & Confidence: Learn campsite setup, basic first aid, knife safety, fire building, and outdoor navigation.
  • Programmable Fun: Discover exciting ideas for campfires, outdoor games, hikes, and nature activities your Scouts will love.
  • Practical Knowledge: Master meal planning, campsite sanitation, weather preparation, and risk management so your trips run smoothly.
