BSA NRA Training Courses

The NRA certifications offered are:

• Basics of Rifle Shooting
• Basics of Shotgun Shooting
• Basics of Pistol Shooting
• Rifle Instructor
• Shotgun Instructor
• Pistol Instructor
• Range Safety Officer (RSO)
• Basic Instructor Training

Instructor and RSO certifications are required by the Guide to Safe Scouting to operate a rifle, shotgun, or pistol range for Scouts and Venturers. This training experience will enable the student to select between just the basics of shooting all the way to instructor certifications from four different weekends. Youth are welcome to basic classes.

These trainings wil be conducted at Camp Bowers in White Oak, NC. Thie courses below will be offered over four different weekends. Participants should understand each class will start at 8:00am and ending at 5:00pm each day. If the student is interested in an instructor certification in any discipline, completion of the corresponding basic class is also required. Over night stay at Camp Bowers is available.

Registration for each event will need to be made seperately. Seperate fee payable to the NRA for 2 yr. Instructor & RSO Credential Registration. No additional fees are required for Basics of Shooting classes.
