Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

Who: Cub Scout Den Leaders, Webelos Den Leaders, Cubmasters

What: Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)

When: Sat., September 19, 2026, 8:00am – Sun., September 20, 2026, 11:00am (BALOO is  an overnight training, and the overnight portion is required.)

Where: Camp Tuscarora (965 Scout Rd, Four Oaks, NC 27524)

Cost: $50.00, includes course materials and meals.

For a Pack to go camping, a minimum of one leader, (two are highly recommended) must be BALOO trained and on site during the campout.

PLEASE NOTE:

—BALOO is comprised of both an online component and a practical, hands-on component. Both components must be completed to qualify as a “TRAINED” Cub Scout outdoor leader The online training contains introductory and basic information that will be built upon during the practical training. You must complete the online Baloo Prerequisite. The Baloo prerequisite course takes about an hour and a half. You can complete the online portion of this training as you have time. It will remember where you left off. Please bring proof of completion to the training course. The completion certificate can be found in My Training and is listed as Introduction to Cub Scout Outdoor Program V2.
