The Occoneechee Council Wood Badge training is a five-day course held over two weekends at Camp Durant.
You must attend both weekends to successfully complete the course.

This year's Wood Badge course will be held Sept. 11-13, 2026 and Oct. 3-4, 2026.  Both weekends begin at 7am.
Note:  You will be given the option to arrive the night prior to course if you desire on both weekends.  We know that 7am is an early start time!

Who’s it for?

Newbie? Old pro? Somewhere in between? If you’re a registered leader (18+), and have done your basic training, you’re in! Cub Scouts to Council, we’ve got room for you.

What's the cost?

Cost for the course is $325.00.  

A $50 deposit is required at registration with the balance due by August 12th, 2026.

Pre-Course Online Orientation Fun!

Before you arrive, there’s one more (there’s always more!) thing you will need to do. Wood Badge has put together a 30 minute online pre-course orientation that is intended to let you know what to expect from a Wood Badge course and should alleviate common concerns about what to expect during the training.

Please complete this online training by September 7, 2025 at 11:59pm, otherwise our Registrar will begin the nudging!

All Occoneechee Council Events are stand-alone events and fees do not roll from one event to another. A refund of 100% of event fees can be issued up to 30 days prior to the start of the event. From 30-15 days prior to the event start, a 50% refund can be issued. Within 15 days prior to the event start, refunds will not be issued.
