Whitewater Basics - Canoe Handling Course

Whitewater Basics
Practical training and experience in Whitewater merit badge skills on the Cape Fear and/or Haw Rivers. Learn SAFETY, trip planning, how to maneuver Class I and II rapids, manage a group on running water and rescue techniques. This is a course designed to train leaders how to safely take Scouts on river trips. Completion of BSA “Canoe Paddle Craft Safety” is required for Whitewater Basics.
Cost: TBD
Schedule: Friday evening 6 – 9 pm (no overnight camping)
Saturday & Sunday will be at 2 local class I and II rivers
