Religious Emblems Program Kickoff/Orientation

Religious Emblems Program Kickoff & Orientation
March 28 | 9:00–11:00 AM
“A Scout is reverent. Be reverent toward God. Be faithful in your religious duties. Respect the beliefs of others.”
Duty to God is a cornerstone of the Scouting program. The Scout Oath begins with duty to God, and the Scout Law ends with reverence. While Scouting America is nonsectarian, it recognizes that a Scout’s religious growth is nurtured through their family and faith community. The Religious Emblems Program provides a meaningful, age-appropriate way for Scouts to explore, strengthen, and live out their faith while working toward an official Scouting religious emblem.
This Religious Emblems Program Kickoff & Orientation is the starting point for Scouts and families interested in earning a Religious Emblem for their faith and age level. This event will introduce participants to the program, explain expectations, and prepare Scouts to successfully begin their class experience.
During the kickoff, Scouts and parents will:
- Meet their Religious Emblems counselors
- Learn the schedule and structure of each class
- Review requirements specific to their faith tradition and age level
- Receive all required materials to get started
- Understand how families, counselors, and faith leaders support the process
- Learn what to complete before the first class meeting
