Event Details

Second Annual Pinstravapaloopsa 2024 at Camp Cutler

When: 9/27/23 - 9/29/23 (Friday and Saturday night camping are optional but highly reccomended for Webelos and AOL)

Where: Camp Cutler in Naples, NY

Why: Crossover program to earn pins for advancement and practice tent camping for Scouts BSA.

How: Please register by September 24th on 247scouting.com

"Pinstravapalooza" is the rebranding and expansion of our time honored Webelosree event held at former BSA Camp Babcock-Hovey. What was once reserved for Webelos and AOL Cubs is now open to ALL CUB RANKS as the Legends and CSAC Staff join forces to provide an AMAZING weekend of camping fun, advancement activities, and core BSA programs like climbing, fishing, shooting sports, and nature.

This event is a great opportunity to introduce Lion-Tiger Cubs to camp and for Wolf-AOL Cubs to complete multiple adventure pins for rank advancement and crossing over into Scouts.  Cubs can attend for the day on Saturday, spend 1-2 nights camping in tents or lean-tos (included with overnight adult admission), OR book a themed building or pod by contacting Liane Richardson at the Council office. Be sure to book early as sites and buildings will fill up fast! See below for basic pricing:

  • Tent and Lean-to Sites: $15 Fri-Sun. Can be reserved via this registration and are included with the adult overnight pass.
  • Maxion: $55 per night can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Counil office.
  • Pods at the Castle and Fort: $70 per night can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Counil office.
  • Longhouse: $77.50 per night can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Counil office.
  • Ships at the Lighthouse: $100 per night can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Counil office.
  • Fort or Gleason Bay Lighthouse: $162.50 per night can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Counil office.

Choose your adventures and select your favorite core BSA programs as part of registration to build your own custom schedule just like the Scouts do for Massawepie summer camp! Most Cubs can earn 3-5 pins on Saturday and those who sacrifice a Core BSA program or two can earn up to 7 over the entire weekend! Pack your own lunch and eat together in the dining hall for the full experience with songs by staff OR pick your favorite spot in camp and have a picnic with your den.

Core Programs Offered: BB Gun, Bouldering, Monkey Bridge, Slack Line, Fishing, Gaga, Sling Shot Archery I and II

Webelos and AOL Cubs should plan on pitching their own tents or staying in lean-tos and helping to plan and prepare their own meals in true pack-in-pack-out style. The overnight campout is optional except when requred for adventures such as Castaway and Outdoor Adventurer. Build your own shelter and spend the night in it to fulfill your requirements AND get a special award from Camp Director Gopher!

For those who stay the night, Sunday is an open program free-for-all from 9:15am to 12:00pm. If you wanted to participate in a core program but couldn't fit it into your schedule on Saturday, this is your chance!

- Cost is $16 per Cub and $15 per Parent/Guardian (overnight only and includes campsite)

- No Adult charge for day only participants OR if your unit is renting a cabin, lodge, or pod.

- Cub Scout parents or legal guardians taking part in an overnight Cub Scout program with their own child or legal ward are not required to register as leaders, however; they are still required to take the "How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse" training here: https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection/parents-guides/. For more information on current YPT rules please visit the BSA website: https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection/.
