Event Details

Second Annual Pinstravapaloopsa 2024 at Camp Cutler

When: 9/27/24 - 9/29/24 (Friday and Saturday night camping are optional but highly recomended for Webelos and AOL)

Where: Camp Cutler in Naples, NY

Why: Crossover program to earn pins for advancement and practice tent camping for Scouts BSA.

How: Please register by September 24th on 247scouting.com

"Pinstravapalooza" is the rebranding and expansion of our time honored Webelosree event held at former BSA Camp Babcock-Hovey. What was once reserved for Webelos and AOL Cubs is now open to ALL CUB RANKS as the Camp Legends and CSAC Staff join forces to provide an AMAZING weekend of camping fun, advancement activities, and core BSA programs like climbing, fishing, shooting sports, and nature.

This event is a great opportunity to introduce Lion-Tiger Cubs to camp and for Wolf-AOL Cubs to complete multiple adventure pins for rank advancement and crossing over into Scouts.  Cubs can attend for the day on Saturday, spend 1-2 nights camping in tents or lean-tos (included with overnight adult admission), OR book a themed building or pod by contacting Liane Richardson at the Council office. Be sure to book early as sites and buildings will fill up fast! See below for availability:

  • Tent and Lean-to Sites: $15 Fri-Sun. Can be reserved via this registration and are included with the adult overnight pass.
  • Maxion: can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Council office.
  • Castle and Pods: can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Council office.
  • Lighthouse and Pods: can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Council office.
  • Fort and Pods: can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Council office.
  • Walmsey Sawyer: can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Council office.
  • Winter Building: can be reserved by calling Liane Richardson at the Council office.

The following locations are reserved for staff and event programming and cannot be rented:

  • Amy Jenkins: Reserved for Staff
  • Cohn North: Reserved for Staff and Programs
  • Cohn South: Reserved for Staff and Programs
  • Leo Lodge: Reserved for Staff and Programs
  • Lippitt Longhouse: Reserved for Programs

Choose your adventures and select your favorite core BSA programs as part of registration to build your own custom schedule just like the Scouts do for Massawepie summer camp! Most Cubs can earn 3-5 pins on Saturday and those who sacrifice a Core BSA program or two can earn up to 7 over the entire weekend!

Order a delicious meal option from the OA or bring your own lunch. Options will include: Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, or Hot Dogs, Chips, and a drink. Indicate your preferences in registration and bring cash to purchase in camp. Eat together in the dining hall for the full experience with songs sung by staff OR pick your favorite spot in camp and have a picnic with your den or pack.

Core Programs Offered: BB Gun, Bouldering, Monkey Bridge, Fishing, Gaga, Sling Shot, Archery, and Action Archery!

Advancement Offered: Into the Woods, Stonger, Faster, Higher, Webelos Walkabout, Aware and Care, Bear Strong, Duty to GOD, Earth Rocks, First Aid, Outdoor Adventurer, Paws on the Path/Let's Camp Wolf, Rockets, Tigers in the Wild/Let's Camp Tiger.

Webelos and AOL Cubs should plan on pitching their own tents or staying in lean-tos and helping to plan and prepare their own meals in true pack-in-pack-out style. The overnight campout is optional except when requred for adventures such as Castaway and Outdoor Adventurer. Build your own shelter and spend the night in it to fulfill your requirements AND get a special award from Camp Director Gopher!

For those who stay the night, Sunday is an open program free-for-all from 9:15am to 12:00pm. If you wanted to participate in a core program but couldn't fit it into your schedule on Saturday, this is your chance!

- $15 per Cub and $5 for Adult day-pass only (includes patches)

- $15 per Parent/Guardian (overnight includes campsite or lean-to)

- $5 for Adult day only participants includes a patch

- $0 Adult fees if your unit is renting a cabin, lodge, or pod

- Please pre-order when you register and bring cash if you wish to purchase lunch from the OA. They will offer lunch deals that include your choice of a Hot dog, Hamburger, or Cheeseburger, Chips, and a Drink for $4, $5, or $6 each.

- Cub Scout parents or legal guardians taking part in an overnight Cub Scout program with their own child or legal ward are not required to register as leaders, however; they are still required to take the "How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse" training here: https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection/parents-guides/.
