Exploring First Responder Camp is for Explorers and Posts seeking a focused program in two exciting areas. Open CO-ED registration to anyone up to 21 years old, Exploring First Responder Camp is one of Babcock-Hovey’s Expedition Camps which are designed to refine your skills, challenge your limits, and for Explorers – help you develop a deeper understanding of the Emergency Services.

FIREFIGHTING

Firefighting Camp is designed to let you work on both skills you normally do and those you don’t normally do at post meetings such as setting up portable retaining ponds, rope rescue techniques, hydrant work and much more! Fire Explorers will put all of their newly acquired skills to use in our all Explorer simulated event on the last day of camp.

EMS/ MEDICAL

EMS/ Medical Camp is for all EMS/ Medical and Fire Explorers that want to learn more about their chosen field. Trainings will include scenarios, seminars, demos, certifications and lots of hands-on activities. Check out the mobile hospital room, practice on the sim mannequins, and much more. Medical Explorers will also participate in our camp wide simulation event on Friday, putting all their training to the test.

COST: $450 per Explorer - Register by July 1 for $425 per Explorer!

FAQs

Who can attend?  All Exploring Camps are CO-ED and anyone who is registered as a youth in Exploring is eligible to attend one of the Babcock-Hovey Expedition Camps.  If you are not currently registered in one of Exploring’s Programs, let us know and we will help get you signed up before you arrive at camp.

Is there an age limit? No- as long as you are registered in the Exploring Program (Club or Post ages) you are more than welcome to attend. There are however, age restrictions for shooting portions of the camp.

What equipment do I need? Once enrolled staff will provide a list of needed items tailored to the needs for each expedition. If you do not have these items, check with your unit and friends first, and then let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

Will it be all training, all the time? No! The day will be broken down into dedicated training sessions, down time, and time for other camp activities so you can check out all the great stuff going on.

Do I need to be in a First Responder Post to attend? No, while it would be helpful to have some base knowledge, you are more than welcome to attend no matter what kind of Post you belong to and check out all First Responder Exploring has to offer.

Medical Form Parts A, B and C are mandatory.
