ATV Certification Course
Held during the Challenge Trophy Camporee at Babcock-Hovey.
$40 per person (Youth & Adult) & minimum age is 14 years old
Morning Session 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Afternoon Session 1:30 pm- 5:00 pm
Participants only need to select one session.
Dirt and horsepower — what’s not to love? Scouts,Venturers, and Explorers can now learn how to safely drive an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) at Camp Babcock-Hovey! Participants must be age 14 or older to drive an ATV.
The Certification program requires participants to wear the following:
- helmets - Provided
- goggles - Provided
- gloves - Provided
- long pants,
- long-sleeve shirts and
- over-the-ankle boots.
The ATV Rider Course program consists of 2-hour online safety E-Course (prior to the day of instruction) and 3 1/2 hours of hands on training on the riding range. Skills practice will include, sharp turns, weaving in between cones, performing emergency stops and turns, learning machine maintenance, and review safety regulations. After receiving their safety certificate, they will be able to use the ATV's at Babcock-Hovey when their Troop/Crew/Post reserve them.
ONLINE SAFETY COURSE
The Rider Course program requires ALL participant to Complete the online E-Course (Safety Course) prior to the skills course and submit the E-Course Certificate of Completion to the Instructor the day of instruction.

- Print the completed E-Course certificate and submit it to the Instructor the day of instruction
HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
All the participants between 14 and 17 years of age need to complete the 'Hold Harmless Agreement'. Signature of the participant and parents be on the form. The form needs to be submitted to the ATV Instructor at the time of instruction.
Registration and payment must be done online prior to arrival of the course. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
