February Merit Badge Day: Radio Merit Badge

Our February Merit Badge Day is Radio Merit Badge and will be hosted by the Rochester Amateur Radio Association! These local experts are excited to teach scouts about the basics of radio communication. Have fun learning about radio basics, electronics, safety, broadcasting careers and Amateur Radio. The Radio Merit Badge will introduce the fields of electricity, electronics, and communications, and could spark interest in a very satisfying career. Practice what you learn and contact Amateur Radio operators on our HF and VHF radio stations at the Center. At the end of the day, receive your signed blue card showing you have earned the Radio Merit Badge.
With a sufficient number of Scouts, we will engage in a list Scout drill and/or operate a radio network to coordinate a search as well as using radio direction finding to locate a "fox".
The merit badge day will be held Saturday, February 8th from 9:00 am through 3:00 pm at the Council Service Center. The program costs $20, which includes a pizza lunch.
Please bring a blue card presigned by your unit leader.
