Lighthouse Covid Cook-Off 2020

Event Details

What is it? A judged cooking competition between patrols and units of scouts. Grouips of 3 to 6 persons make an entree and a dessert that will include some secret ingredients. Before the cooking your unit can also do a 5 mile hike or 15 mile bike hike with trail lunch or a service project, to make it a daylong event. We can provide ideas!

Where is it? This is a remote event, you can set up and cook anywhere with your team. District Volunteers will come to pick up your meal and at the conclusion you can tune in virtually while the judges taste your food.

How do we get the food? We provide the secret ingredients. You will provide anything else you need. You get the list of secret ingredients when you register, so you register early to get more planning time.

How do we cook? All cooking should be done with camp methods: charcoal, propane stove, campfire, dutch oven, you get it.

What do we get? A patch, bragging rights, “trophy” for the winners and a day of excitement. Is there a cost?  $5 per scout, plus you have to provide some of the food. We will provide the secret ingredients. Can Adults take part? Yes! Ask about our Adult Division or sign up up two adults with a patrol of six.

You must follow safety protocols to safeguard against the spread of Covid 19:

 - Proper sanitation and hand washing

- Participants must wear facemasks.

- Try to maintain social distancing, hold event outdoors
