Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training is Scouting America's initial level of training for adult leaders of Scouts BSA Troops. It is designed primarily for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. However, Troop Committee Members and other adult Scouts BSA leaders are welcome to attend.

Hazardous Weather Training, which must be renewed every two years, is a prerequisite that must be completed prior to attending this course. It can be completed online in the Scouting America Learn Center at: training.scouting.org/courses/SCO_800

Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters who complete Hazardous Weather Training, Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) are considered "trained" for those positions.
