WHAT is the University of Scouting?
The University of Scouting is a fun-filled, hands-on opportunity for networking and to gain skills to improve your Scouts' experience. This one-day supplemental training event was created for all Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, Exploring and Venturing leaders as well as BSA Scouts interested in Den Chief Training and Merit Badges. Sessions are led by professionals and volunteers who will enhance your ability to show your Scouts more adventure, make you a more effective leader, and keep your Scouts engaged.
WHO should attend?
All Adult Volunteers and BSA Scouts. This includes BSA Scouts, Cub , Scouts BSA, and Venturing Leaders, Commissioners, District and Council Level Volunteers, and all other Scout Volunteers.
What should I wear and bring?
University of Scouting recommends a full uniform. Other than a desire to learn, you may want to bring a pen and paper for notes, and a coffee mug. If you're participating in an outdoor activity, a small pack with bug spray, sun screen, and the other "scout essentials" may be helpful.
